    Product Description

    The Prothec System is a unique, patented vine tieing system consisting of the manual Prothec tie tool and degradable Prothec ties. Prothec protects vines, simplifies pruning and reduces operating costs while preventing girdling and other plant damage. Prothec enables growers to quickly secure vines to trellis wires by twisting and cutting the tying material in one quick action.

    Available in photo-degradable and fully certified bio-degradable formats, the ties are designed to breakdown in 1, 2 or 3+ seasons, depending upon the color of the tie. The tie spools are available in 1, 2 or 3 wires formats, and the free floating internal wire(s) breakdown by coming into contact with moisture which enters inside the tie through very small holes in the envelope.

    All prothec “BIO” ties transform into compost after falling onto the ground and mixing with the soil.

    - 2-wire one-season BEIGE spool designed to be used on young vines

    - 3-wire one-season GREEN spool designed to be used on fruit bearing cane-pruned vines

    - 2-wire two season BROWN spool designed to be used in windy regions on fruit bearing cane pruned vines 

    - 3-wire three+ season BLACK spool designed to be used on mature vines

    Other Details

    Beige, green, brown, black tie spools are 1100' in length, with an average of 3200 ties per spool.
